Commercial Development Manager - Kenia

Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
* Craft "Go-to-Market" strategies to penetrate customers & markets to find the potential for growth
* Facilitate integration and implementation of strategy; achieve growth through Solutions Strategy: identify opportunities, generate leads and identify New Product Introduction & Business Development opportunities.
* Act as Voice of the Customer for GE
* Develop detailed regional market analysis for each GE business and compile "fact-base" including Total & Available Customer Spend, Competitive Analysis and Regulatory Analysis.
* Foster strategic marketing development activities.
* Evaluate alliances, partnerships, customer programs & variable channels. Execute partnership activities to steer GE through the hybrid evolution.
* Learn existing offerings & develop a plan for East & Central African countries in conjunction with global team
* Represent GE at all desalination events and research centers locally and globally
* Develop localized sales toolkit.

Qualifications/Requirements:
* Must have proven experience with the East & Central African countries, preferably with technical background.
* Bachelor's degree, ideally engineering
* Commercial, customer facing, background in sales, marketing or business development.
* Excellent understanding of the regional economics with respect to regulatory impacts & subsidies.
* Must be computer literate with creative capabilities in making own high level presentation
* Fluent in English, Swahili & French
* Exceptional leadership skills, critical & creative thinker with high-level negotiation skills
* Ability to develop sales and transfer knowledge to the sales team in a matrix environment
* Passionate about GE and its future growth in the region

Desired:
Consultant experience can be decisive factor.
Having a MBA is advantageous.

General:
The objective of the roles will be to develop GE's overall commercial offering of GE Businesses in Eastern & Central African countries. The Commercial Development Manager will have a cross-functional role between GE's businesses and will be developing GE's go-to-market strategy and sales tools/support needed to drive growth in the region. We are looking for a motivated self-starter, with a strong drive to develop new relationships for GE and a live network of contacts in the region.
