Description Our client is running a 3 year IT infrastructure project located in Guinea and requires a highly experienced and 'hands-on' IT Operations Manager with a proven track record of delivering IT Operations in a "challenging" environment. The scale of the project would be daunting for some and the location itself presents its own challenges but this role undoubtedly provides an exciting opportunity for candidates with the right mix of 'can do' attitude and technical aptitude.
Key Objectives:
Develop and manage the MS Operations and Systems Administration Group
Manage the Desktop Administration and Support Group
Manage IT Purchasing and Procurement Process
Build an MS Administration team covering all installed MS based products
Support and maintain the following:
MS Exchange Server, MS SMS, MS SQL, ISA, AD/DNS/DHCP
Print Server, Symantec virus protection etc
Manage RFP - implementation process
Support Network Security policy
Key Deliverables:
Build MS Administration Group
Build Desktop Administration and Support Group
Manage and liaise with suppliers where necessary regarding:
MS Support
Server purchasing
Mass storage
Data Centre management
Project Methodology
Management of server implementation and upgrade plans, progress reporting, issue management, risk reporting etc
Department knowledge transfer and training plan for local staff
Weekly management status report
Skills:
5 - 10 + years management experience
3+ years project programme management
Proven experience with MS operational environment
Heavy MS Exchange and SQL Server experience
Proven system administration experience
Excellent people and communication skills
Experience in remote locations
English / French speaker essential
