Essential Functions (Responsibilities):Demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals/programs/processes for the business units. Has the experience or expertise to solve problems. Able to develop and execute objectives for self and others. Prepare, analyse and report on all financial data surrounding several of the business unit's in the Sub Sahara Africa (SSA) region.
Serves as a business partner to the operating team to drive business initiatives, growth, and profitability.
Develop estimates, operating plans/forecasts/reviews/reports (GAAP).
Develop and establish financial policies& procedures. Review and prepare the P&L accounts for the New Build, Repair, Rental departments, to include management reporting and other financial reports as required.
Support inventory management and operations to ensure all inventory is recorded and managed in a compliant manner.
Supervise the Revenue accountant to ensure we prepare billings locally on the AS400 system in a compliant manner and in line with GE GAAP.
Completion of relevant balance sheet reconciliations
Adapt / assist the use of the AS400 system locally and process Purchase Orders, Sales Orders and issue invoices. AS400 is being implemented currently in Angola and the position will be involved in developing the correct financial processes.
Assist in annual corporation tax return for the WA region. Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors and local audit & tax Ministers
Ensuring Intercompany & Third Party invoices are approved by appropriate management for payment in a timely manner
Ensure controllership and consistency of accounting process across the operations, drive controllership/compliance/FCPA awareness and processes through operations teams and ensures finance compliance
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
At least 3 additional years of experience in a financial position
