In Ghana, our subsidiary, PZ Cussons Ghana Industries Ltd, manufactures and distributes a wide range of FMCG products. We are now seeking an experienced person to fill the post of Head of IT, based at our Head Office in Tema, Ghana.
Role Summary:
Responsible for the Ghana IT function and a small IT team, this is an important and influential role as part of the local Operating Unit leadership team. The IT Manager, Ghana, is also a member of the PZ Cussons Group global IT team and is expected to contribute to the development and implementation of Group strategy, policies and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities:
Engage with the business such that business objectives and plans are understood and appropriate IT advice is provided.
Ensure security and availability of IT infrastructure, business systems and data.
Work with Group IT to implement Group strategy for Business Systems, Infrastructure and People Development.
Plan and manage the delivery of strategically important infrastructure and business systems projects working with local and Group IT resources and global partners. Ensure IT resources are in place to fulfil the IT roles. Manage IT resource continuity and succession planning.
Effectively manage local IT suppliers by establishing formal contracts and service level agreements.
Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
Set, measure and report IT service vs agreed SLAs.
Actively participate in global IT people networks to share skills and knowledge.

Sub-Saharan Africa work experience, preferably Ghana
At least 5 years IT management experience in international group
Good knowledge of UNIX, experience of managing UNIX-based business applications
ERP, preferably, but not essentially MFG/Pro
Relational databases, preferably, but not essentially PROGRESS
Windows systems management experience
SQL server based applications
Infrastructure management – WAN, LAN, hardware/software
Effective management of 3rd-party IT suppliers
The Person:
· A confident self-starter, you will be flexible, stress-tolerant, conscientious, energetic and persuasive, used to delivering to demanding standards and deadlines.
· In addition to your proven skills as a manager of IT, you must be able to demonstrate an ability to train, coach and facilitate others.
Sub-Saharan Africa work experience, preferably Ghana
At least 5 years IT management experience in international group
