PROJECT MANAGER ALLUVIAL'S PROJECT

Our client, a Diamond exploration and mining company seeks an experienced project manager for an alluvial diamond mining operation in Guinea, West Africa. The company has a strong African focus and has exploration, development and near term production projects in Africa.

The position reports in to the CEO and is responsible for the overall management of the alluvial mining operation to ensure delivery of a cost effective, efficient and profitable alluvial mine while demonstrating good corporate governance and sound stakeholder management especially with the local community.

Key deliverables
- The incumbent must have a proven track record of success in developing and mining alluvial diamond deposits in remote settings, both on time and within budget.
- Experience in mine planning, grade control, mine fleet management & maintenance is a principle requirement.
- Technical experience in the operation of DMS and X-Ray technology is a prerequisite.
- Knowledge of modern diamond security and technology is essential
- Furthermore, the ability to effectively manage & communicate with a diverse work force and operate harmoniously in local communities is a necessity.
- The ability to clearly prepare and present oral & written reports, briefings and updates will be important for the company and intergovernmental purposes.

The position will be single status and based on site in Guinea. However, appropriate work and R+R rotas will be established. The company will negotiate an attractive salary and incentive share option scheme with the right candidate, and contracts initially will be on an annual, renewable basis.
