For our Client- a mining company operating successfully various open pit gold mines and a large heap leaching operation in a warm desert environment:We recruit a:
Mine / Field Manager
Location : East Africa
Individual in this role will plan, organize and manage the mining and processing operations, with a full range of responsibilities, including the management of the secure mining camp (workforce around 800) and related services in a remote desert location.
In close collaboration with the Managing Director and heads of services, will manage and enhance all aspects of the operation, and also deliver appropriate support for an exploration team engaged in various tasks around the mining area and further.Will also be involved in the coordination and follow up of various new projects, including a CIP plant project, a tailings reprocessing project, and the development of a base metals new mining activity.
Requirements :
- bachelor’s degree in mine engineering, ore processing or geology
- significant amount of experience in mine management, with at least some years in an African environment
- proven track of records
- cost wise
- excellent written, verbal, organizational and leadership skills
- ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and general safety rules
- English is the working language of the company, French and Arabic being a definitive advantage.
