For our Client- a mining company operating successfully various open pit gold mines and a large heap leaching operation in a hot and dry desert environment: We recruit a:
Mining Engineer
Location : East Africa
Individual in this role will plan, organize and manage open pit operations, in close collaboration with his local counterpart, who is highly skilled and trained under international standards.
As a tandem able to replace each other with a generous vacation roaster, will work efficiently to deliver in time and with a cost effective manner the various ores, mined in remote sites and to be transported to the processing plant.
Reports to the field manager, supervising all activities at the mine site.
Requirements :
- bachelor’s degree in mine engineering
- significant amount of experience in open pit metals mine design and operations, including experience with related design softwares (Wittle, Surpac, Gemcom, …)
- minimum 10+ years experience, with a proven record in open pit operations with a cost effective philosophy of work
- good written and verbal communication
- ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and general safety rules.
- English is the working language of the company, French and Arabic being a definitive advantage
