Recruiting Advisor In Fort Dauphin, Madagascar



Context
The competitive and dynamic business environment all Rio Tinto businesses face demands that the HR function develops strategies, systems and practices that facilitate a greater alignment between the values and contributions of employees at all levels with organizational performance.

The keys to achieving this alignment are ensuring that the requisite skills within the HR community are available to support leaders at all levels and that leading HR practice is identified, adopted and deployed. This can be accomplished by making available scarce HR specialist skills and knowledge on a collective basis and within the context of Rio Tinto common leading practice HR systems.

To this end, regional People & Organizational Support Groups will be established to support business unit HR teams in that region and to work with Group Practice leaders within the RTHR team to ensure adoption of global standards and practices.



Primary Purpose
The Recruiting Specialist will be responsible to serve & support one or several business units in all aspects of resourcing; attraction, selection & recruitment of key identified skills in alignment with pre-defined business needs. The framework within which the role performs its’ tasks are defined by the P&OS Resourcing processes, systems and team & customer values.

Being based in Fort Dauphin, the Recruiting Specialist will work to support the clients across the region. Since many of these clients have global structures the activities will equally include working cross regions to fully support their needs.

Accountabilities
Working during 2008/2009 on the One Rio Tinto HR organization set-up & roll-out, particularly of the below streams with the P&OS organization.

Resourcing identification & Planning:
• Work with the BU HR contact/s to define and develop the BU’s resourcing plan for the upcoming year
Sourcing, branding & attraction:
• Work with the BU HR contact/s to define and develop the sourcing plan, or relevant one-off sourcing activities in alignment with the resourcing plan.
• Work with the P&OS Resourcing team to align the sourcing activities to other BU relevant activities, with main target to optimize cost management & branding success.
Selection & Interviews:
• Provide BU HR / Hiring manager with pre-selection & shortlist
• Support & coordinate the selection & interview process
• Support & coordinate the offer process
KPI, metrics & reporting:
• Provide the BU HR with regular pre-defined KPI:s, metrics & progress updates

Problem Solving
Comprehensive capabilities in regards to HR issues
Cultural awareness critical to global collaboration and initiative participation.
Broad discretion utilized to service client base and secure candidates.

The recruiting specialist will :
• Understand P&OS model and capability development processes and practices for the EMEA region to be a primary promoter.
• Understand various customers’ business environment & key challenges.
• Develop strong, collaborative relationships with Business Unit HR team members across the Region.

Education & Qualifications
College/University Education:
B.S. in Business or HR related field

Other Qualifications:

Relevant experience
Graduate with 3 to 5 years experience early career professional specialising HR in large, complex, international organizations.
• Preferably relevant mining or alumina industry experience.
• African recruiting experience extremely valued
• Both written & well spoken French & English necessary
• Additional European languages added value
