Senior Advisor remuneration & Benefits In Madagascar


Context
The competitive and dynamic business environment all Rio Tinto businesses face demands that the HR function develops strategies, systems and practices that facilitate a greater alignment between the values and contributions of employees at all levels with organizational performance.


The keys to achieving this alignment are ensuring that the requisite skills within the HR community are available to support leaders at all levels and that leading HR practice is identified, adopted and deployed. This can be accomplished by making available scarce HR specialist skills and knowledge on a collective basis and within the context of Rio Tinto common leading practice HR systems.


To this end, regional People & Organizational Support Groups will be established to support business unit HR teams in that region and to work with Group Practice leaders within the RTHR team to ensure adoption of global standards and practices.



Primary Purpose
The Senior Advisor Remuneration and Benefits will support the Director Total Rewards and the Consultant Total Rewards in delivering all service lines for all businesses in Madagascar ie participate to the implementation of all remuneration activity and be accountable for the effective ongoing operation of this activity. She/He will provide remuneration advice and support to BUs.

Accountabilities
Under supervision of the Consultant Total Rewards and the Director Total Rewards :
• Use global, regional and local systems, standards, solutions in line with global policies/standards
• Prepare remuneration packages and contract content for employees band F and below
• Conduct market research/competitive analyses to determine RT’s competitive positioning in Madagascar.
• Provide support within Madagascar to develop solutions where appropriate
• Develop professional support with BU HR within the region.
• Conduct remuneration training in Madagascar for managers and HR
• Coordinate salary review.
• Provide Job evaluation and validation to Bus thus ensuring consistency within the country.
• Support the roll-out of global remuneration programs within Madagascar (eg Global Banding)
• Administrator / coordinator with providers :
- Pension plan administration
- Share scheme administration
- Medical Plan
- Company car



Problem Solving
• Understands the remuneration processes and practices in Madagascar (relevant laws, regulations).
• Capabilities in regards to issue resolution, policy exceptions and budgetary impacts.
• Ability to influence effectively to challenge the status quo.
• Ensure internal equity in regards of number of employees in scope, number of businesses



Education & Qualifications
College/University Education:
B.S. in Business or HR related field

• English language would be a plus
